Get Involved in the Fun.

At Applewood you have the freedom to spend your time as you like. We ensure there is something for everyone, seven days a week. Our Activity team will get to know your hobbies and passions and will plan activities you’re bound to love. The monthly Activities Calendar is designed to keep you involved, informed and as busy as you choose.

Applewood’s 24-hour lounge are great areas for relaxing and chatting with friends over a beverage and a sweet treat. Catch a movie in our theatre; take our shuttle van to a variety of organized outings and day trips; get active with our exercise classes; enjoy a leisurely stroll through our gardens and walking paths; nurture your spirit in our faith-based programs; participate in music programs, arts and craft classes, or live entertainment, and explore volunteer options—there’s every reason to be excited!

Meet your chef
Angie Drummond

Born and raised in Peterborough, Angie’s first culinary job was whilst she was in high school. Working at Wendy’s, back in the day when they prepared and cooked all the food onsite.

Angie commenced working at Applewood Retirement Residence in 1991 in the dining room as a Dietary Aide, then into the kitchen as a Line Cook. In 2006 she took on her current role as Food Service Manager in 2006.

Her passion for food comes directly from her mother, who is an excellent baker and ran her own successful restaurant in the South End of Peterborough for many years.

Angie gets her greatest satisfaction from seeing the smiling faces in the dining room and receiving compliments from both residents and their family members.
